Bishop Lewis D. Stallworth, Jr. was born in Wewoka, Oklahoma on February 20, 1944 to Mother Mary M. Stallworth and the Late Bishop Lewis D. Stallworth, Sr. He is the eldest of 13 children.
In 1946, his family moved to Stockton, CA. At the age of six he was baptized in the name of Jesus. He was filled with the Holy Ghost at the age of ten, at True Light Apostolic Faith Church.
With his father Bishop Lewis D. Stallworth, Sr. as his mentor, he became the first youth leader at True Light.
Bishop Stallworth, Jr. served in his father’s ministry, helping to build the church, as a Sunday School Teacher, Choir President and Director, a Trustee, and as Associate Pastor. He attended Ebony Bible College and Delta College.
He was employed as a Master Diagnostician at J.C. Dunn Volkswagen from 1965-1983.
He had been married to First Lady Nellie (Hayter) Stallworth, since 1965. They are blessed with 7 children, 19 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
He served faithfully at Christ Temple Apostolic Faith Church as a minister and deacon. In 1978 he was ordained as an Elder by the Pentecostal Churches of the Apostolic Faith, Int., and appointed District Elder in 1979.
He has served in the California and Western States Council for over 40 years and has held the offices of Youth
Chairman and Council Chairman. He became the Episcopal Diocesan Bishop of the California and Western States
Council on March 7, 2003 and he continues to serve faithfully.
Bishop Stallworth, Jr. is a staunch supporter of Church, community, and family. He has had the privilege to serve with the Secretary of Education and Governor Gray Davis as a representative of P.A.C.T. (Performance Assessment of California Teachers) Northern division. He has been active in many community activities in the City of Stockton, working with, the Senator and former mayor of Stockton Gary Podesto.
He continues to be a faithful servant of God and God’s people, never forgetting that we must work together in the California and Western States Council to unite ministries. He believes we must dedicate ourselves to partnering in Kingdom Building initiatives and to continue to promote the Doctrine of Jesus Christ as given to his disciples. Our aim is to positively impact our World, by building kingdom lifestyles and ministries. We are called to the apostolic order for one reason and one reason only: that is the perfecting of the saints.
